World Environment Day is an annual event aimed at celebrating positive environmental actions globally. World Environment Day activities take place throughout the year, but climax on June 5th every year.
Through the observance of World Environment Day, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) seeks to “personalise environmental issues and mobilise everyone to realise not only their responsibility, but also their power to become agents for change in support of sustainable and equitable development”.
The theme for World Environment Day 2012 is Green Economy: Does it include you?
