3.5 St. Lucia:

3.5.1 Seventh Visit of ‘Kids in Sight’ Team:
·    A team from ‘Kids in Sight’ visited St. Lucia during January 24th – February 3rd, and engaged in a number of activities, including: medical, surgical, refractive, rehabilitation, low vision assessments, awareness and sensitization and follow-up. The team also presented surgical supplies, medication and low vision devices, including a Merlin CCTV to the St. Lucia Blind Welfare Association (SLBWA);

·    As part of its observance of World Glaucoma Day, Eye Care St. Lucia held an Eye Clinic on March 12th, to sensitise persons who are at risk of developing Glaucoma, and shared appropriate messages in the print and electronic media.

·    The Eye Health Officer attached to SLBWA, who is also the Regional Focal Person for Low Vision Services, hosted Sensitisation Workshops for: Blind Cricket Coaches (2) on March 26th; and Special Needs Education Teachers (32) on March 27th.
 
3.5.2 St. Lucia has completed the required registration (PADOR) to facilitate it’s eligibility for EU Funding.
