The Caribbean Council for the Blind joins the World Blind Union in highlighting the relevance of International Women’s Day to women who are blind, across the Caribbean and around the World.
Women make up more than 50% of our national populations. Their contribution to the development of: Families, Communities and nations is a fundamental prerequisite to the advancement of our civilizations. Women who are blind or who have other special needs, require expanded opportunities to participate at all levels of community and society. In recognizing this very special day, let us resolve to make our: families, communities and societies more inclusive and secure environments for women and girls who are blind.See the WBU’s press statement at this link.
