Question 1 – According to the tender it is requested to include in the proposalall consumables for 2 years. To calculate these consumables we need to know the estimated production (lenses) per year. Please inform.

Question 2 – Should the offered equipment be able to produce freeform lenses (progressive lenses out of single vision blanks) or just conventional cutting (single vision lenses) or even digital lenses (conventional cut of progressive blocks)?
Answer 2 – We will not be doing free form work; We will be working mostly with CR39s to produce: Single Vision, Flat tops, Progressives etc.
Question 3 – In the lot/product description a Software is required. Could youplease clarify what type of software is required? Is it a LMS (Lab Management System) or LDS (Lens Design Software) for freeform calculation? If it is an LDS, is a one-time license fee required or a click fee per lens?
Answer 3 – We require a Lab Management System (LMS) including a data base of lens powers. We will not be doing free form work.
Question 4 – The tender refers to “cut to polish” and also “material to undertake fining of lens”. Cut to polish process does not require a “fining” step and requires different equipment. Can you confirm if the tender is for Standard lab (with a fining process) or for a Cut-to-Polish lab (does not have a fining process)?
Answer 4 – All interested parties may tender for either / or:1. A Standard lab (with a fining process) or 2. A Cut-to-Polish lab (without a fining process) taking into consideration that the equipment must comply with the specifications detailed in ANNEX II + III: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS + TECHNICAL OFFER of the Tender Dossier (page 49)
